Dear Madeline,

Well, it seems so soon but the summer is coming to an end.  Eleanor, sophmore, and Amelia, third grade, return to school on Monday.  In a few weeks Erin will go back to California State University at Long Beach for her last semester.  At the same time, you dad will be going back to to College of Sequoias.

If you had been able to spend this half of the summer with all of us, you would now be preparing to return to Oklahoma to your mother.  It did not work out this year, but we are all praying that we will be able to spend time with you this year, and that next summer you will be able to come and visit.
